Instant quote calculator for your website, built for trades and service businesses.
An instant quote calculator gives visitors to your website a real price in seconds, worked out from your own pricing rules. We build custom quote calculators that ask your questions, show a price or a range you can stand behind, and send you a complete enquiry with every answer filled in.
Fixed quote before we start. One-off build fee, then ongoing management from go-live.
A price in seconds, from your own pricing.
A website quote calculator is a short, guided form that turns a visitor’s answers into a price. The good ones feel like a conversation: what kind of property, how big, how often, any extras. The answer arrives on screen straight away, and the business receives the enquiry with all the details it needs.
The difference between a gimmick and a lead source is the pricing underneath. A cleaning company prices by rooms and frequency, a roofer by area, pitch and access, a clinic by treatment and course length. A bespoke calculator runs your pricing, not a generic formula, so the figure on screen is one your team will honour.
Signs your website needs a proper quote calculator.
A contact form or a simple form-builder calculator is fine for many businesses. These are the signs yours is costing you enquiries.
Visitors leave without a price
People comparing three businesses on a phone want a number before they pick up the phone. If your site only offers a contact form, many of them move on to a site that gives them one.
Your enquiry form asks nothing useful
Name, email and “tell us about your job” leaves you ringing back to ask the same ten questions, and half the enquiries turn out to be for work you do not do.
A form-builder calculator that cannot do your maths
Calconic, Outgrow and involve.me handle simple sums well. They struggle once your price depends on conditions, minimum charges, postcode zones or several measurements that interact.
Prices nobody can stand behind
A calculator someone set up two years ago still shows old rates, so the team quietly ignores its figure and quotes again by hand. Customers notice when the price changes.
Leads from outside your area
Enquiries arrive for postcodes you do not cover or jobs below your minimum, and somebody spends time politely saying no to each one.
Ad clicks you cannot follow
You pay for clicks to a quote page but cannot see how many people started the calculator, where they dropped out, or which of them became paying customers.
What goes into a custom quote calculator.
Every calculator we build is shaped to one business, so the mix changes. These are the parts most of them share.
Same idea, four different calculators.
These are illustrative examples, not client projects. They show how the questions and the kind of price change with the work.
A roofing company
Visitors choose the roof type, the problem and the rough size, and see a price range for a repair, with a fixed price for common jobs such as ridge re-bedding or gutter replacement. Larger jobs show a starting price and offer a survey.
A domestic cleaning company
Bedrooms, bathrooms, frequency and extras such as ovens or windows produce an exact weekly or fortnightly price. The visitor picks a preferred day, and the enquiry arrives ready to book.
A removals firm
Move size, distance, floors and access, packing and storage add up to a price range. The calculator flags moves that need a video survey, so the team knows which enquiries to call first.
An aesthetics clinic
Treatment areas and session counts give a course price, with a consultation offered before any treatment. The clinic sees which treatments people price most, and which of them go on to book.
An exact price, a range, or a survey.
The most important decision in a quote calculator is what kind of figure to show for each job. We agree it with you, service by service.
An exact price
For work you can price from a few answers, such as a regular clean, a boiler service or a standard repair. The customer can often book straight away.
A price range
For work where site conditions move the price, such as roofing, landscaping or removals. A range sets expectations honestly and still gets the enquiry.
A starting price and a survey
For larger or unusual jobs. The calculator gives a realistic “from” figure, books a survey or video call, and passes on everything the customer has told you.
A calculator your ads can learn from.
Scalepoint runs Google Ads, Meta Ads and SEO for trades and service businesses, and a quote calculator is one of the most useful pages we can send paid traffic to. Visitors who arrive from an ad with a specific job in mind get an answer instead of a form.
We build every calculator to be measured. Each step records an event in Google Analytics 4, a completed calculator counts as a conversion, and when an enquiry becomes a booked job, that result can go back to Google Ads and Meta. The platforms then optimise towards people who book, not just people who click.
That depends on the tracking underneath, which is what our Google & Tracking Setup covers. If we run your Google Ads or Meta Ads, the calculator and the campaigns improve together.
Where each enquiry goes next.
A price on screen is only useful if the enquiry reaches the right place. We connect the calculator to the tools you already run.
From your price list to a live calculator.
A calculator build follows the same five stages as all our bespoke software: discovery, a written scope with a fixed quote, a build in stages, go-live, then ongoing management.
Discovery covers three things: how you price each service today, what your customers need to tell you before you can quote, and what should happen to an enquiry once it arrives. We test the calculator against real past jobs so the figures match the prices you actually charge.
The same pricing logic can later power an internal tool for your team. Our bespoke quoting software page covers that side, and a bespoke booking system can let customers book the work once they have their price.
A fixed quote, and the leads are yours.
Every calculator has a one-off build fee, fixed in a written quote after discovery, plus monthly management from go-live covering hosting, monitoring, updates, fixes and small improvements. The full pricing model sits on our bespoke software page.
A licence to use it
Scalepoint keeps the code and you hold a licence to use it, with the option to buy the code out later.
The code becomes yours
Once you pay the build in full, you own the code.
Your data is always yours
Every enquiry, answer and price belongs to your business under UK GDPR, and you can export them at any time.
Common questions about quote calculators
How much does an instant quote calculator cost?
It depends on how complex your pricing is, so we quote after discovery rather than publish a price. A calculator for one service with simple rules costs less than one covering several services with postcode zones, photo uploads and CRM integration. Your written quote fixes the build fee and sets out the monthly management fee in the same document.
Will it work on our existing website?
Usually, yes. We can embed the calculator in most websites, including WordPress, Squarespace, Wix and custom-built sites. If you are planning a new website anyway, we can build the two together.
Should we show an exact price or a range?
It depends on the job. Fixed, repeatable work suits an exact price. Work that depends on site conditions suits a range or a starting price with a survey. We usually mix the three across your services, and agree the choice for each one in discovery.
What stops people entering silly numbers?
The calculator checks every answer as people type: sensible limits on sizes and quantities, required fields, postcode checks and minimum charges. Unusual answers can show a survey offer instead of a price.
Who owns the calculator and the leads?
Every enquiry and every answer is your data, and you can export it at any time. Code ownership is agreed per project in writing: by default Scalepoint keeps the code and you hold a licence with the option to buy it out, or the code becomes yours once you pay the build in full.
Can we change our prices ourselves?
Yes. You update rates, extras and minimum charges from an admin screen, and the calculator uses them straight away. New services or changes to the logic are part of the ongoing management that starts from go-live with every build.
